We were recently called out to Leyland to assist an Amazon delivery driver who had encountered every driver’s worst nightmare — he’d parked up his 2011 Vauxhall Zafira for the start of his shift, only to discover later that his only car key had gone missing somewhere along his delivery route.
With no spare key and no access to the vehicle, he was effectively stranded and needed urgent help. That’s where Paladin Vehicle Keys stepped in.
Upon arriving at the scene, we got to work straight away. The first step was to gain entry to the vehicle, which we did by carefully picking open the driver’s door lock — completely non-destructively, with no damage caused. Once inside, we needed to decode the door lock in order to determine the correct key cuts and create mechanical keys that would operate the lock and ignition.
But that wasn’t all. Since the original key was lost, we had to programme new transponder chips into the vehicle’s immobiliser system and synchronise the remote functions so the keys could also lock and unlock the doors remotely. We supplied not just one, but two brand new remote keys, giving the customer both a replacement and a spare — and peace of mind going forward.
